Every dating app can tell you someone seems nice. None of them can tell you whether they'll actually turn up. HangTing can, because a meetup only counts here when both people scan each other's code at the venue — so the number can't be self-reported, inflated, or bought.
Turn that into a link. Put it in a bio, send it to someone before you meet, show it to a venue you want to host at. It says one thing and nothing else: this person turns up.

You choose what it shows
Your rating, your no-show count, your photo, when you joined — each one is a switch. The verified meetup count is always there, because that's the whole point of the page.
It proves attendance, not history
Never who you met, where, when, or what kind of plan it was. No email, no phone, no location. That's what makes it safe to hand to a stranger.
Yours to take down
Nothing is public until you publish it, the link is random rather than your name, search engines are told not to index it, and one tap kills it for good.
A QR scan is the only proof that counts.
Anyone can say "we met." HangTing doesn't take your word for it — when you arrive, both people scan each other's on-screen QR code. That's the only way a meetup earns "Verified" status and counts toward your public trust stats. No mutual scan? A fallback window lets both sides self-report what happened, but it never counts as verified — so the number on your profile is a real, hard-to-fake signal.
Scan while you're actually at the venue and it earns the top tier: Verified at venue. That one's optional — location off, or a weak signal indoors, and you still get the full verified badge. It's a bonus for showing up, never a barrier to it.

- Both scan the QR code at the meetup? You get your 3 credits back, plus 3 more, and it counts as a verified meetup.
- Credits reward new connections. Meet the same person again and you still earn — just a little less each time, so nobody can farm the system by "meeting" a friend on repeat.
- Bail last-minute and you lose 5. Get reported as a no-show (or stay silent when the other person says you didn't show) and it's -10 plus a public flake mark.
Your profile carries three honest numbers: verified meetups (QR-confirmed, can't be gamed), meetups verified at the venue, and flake count (visible penalty marks). No filters, no bios doing the talking — just a record of whether you actually show up.

Beyond one-on-one plans, HangTing has group events — hikes, socials, live music. RSVP with credits, or with real money when a ticket has a price (M-Pesa in Kenya, card or PayPal elsewhere). Capacity is enforced by the database itself, so an event can never oversell, even when two people tap at the same instant.
Your ticket is a QR code that changes every 30 seconds. That's deliberate: a screenshot of it is worthless within half a minute, so a ticket can't be forwarded to a friend before doors. Door staff scan it to check you in, and can re-check a ticket at any time without ever consuming it.

Meet the bar
Your account needs to be 14 days old, you need two verified meetups — the QR kind, where two phones were provably together — and fewer than three recent no-shows. The app shows you exactly where you stand on each, with real numbers.
Apply, and hear back
Tell us what you want to run and how often. A person reads every application. If we say no, you're told why — and you can apply again once you've addressed it.
Post, and we review
Your events go to a reviewer before they reach the feed. Your first events are capped at 40 people; that limit rises as you build a track record. A first event that goes wrong should disappoint forty people, not five hundred.
Money, honestly
HangTing doesn't handle payment for organiser events yet, and we'd rather say so than pretend. Make yours free or credits-based — or charge your own way and say so on the event, and we'll show it prominently before anyone RSVPs so nobody turns up expecting free.
We're not holding your money, so there's nothing for us to lose, delay, or take a cut of. When we do add payments, the plan is that you are the merchant — the money goes to your account, not through ours.
We don't allow payment links on events. We can't verify where a stranger's link goes, and a link on a HangTing screen looks like HangTing vouched for it.
The door
Add door staff by name — they scan with their own HangTing account, no extra app and no device to hand out. Remove someone mid-event and they stop being able to scan immediately, while the record of who they already let in stays intact.
Two modes: admit, which happens once per ticket, and verify, which is read-only — so someone checking a guest already inside can't accidentally burn a ticket. A duplicate scan tells you when the ticket was first used and at which gate, which is the only answer that helps when there's a queue.

In the iOS and Android apps you buy them through the App Store or Google Play, priced in your local currency. Event tickets can be paid with M-Pesa, card or PayPal. Prices below are shown in Kenyan Shillings as a guide; the exact price in your currency is always shown before you pay.
